Copyright Policy

Effective October 2, 2026

Elthos respects the rights of copyright owners and expects the people who use it to do the same. This policy follows the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

Reporting infringement

If you believe that content stored on Elthos infringes your copyright, send a written notice to our designated agent that includes:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (or that of a person authorised to act for the owner).
  2. The copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
  3. The material you say is infringing and where it is on Elthos, with enough detail for us to find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, phone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the owner or are authorised to act for the owner.

Designated agent

The designated agent's contact details have not been published yet.

Send a notice

You can send the notice to the agent above, or with this form. We keep what you send to handle the complaint, and may send a copy of the notice, including your name and contact details, to the person who uploaded the material, as the law provides. Content on Elthos is private to the account that added it and the people it was shared with, so tell us the account email, project, class, or file name if you know it.

What we do with a notice

When we receive a complete notice we remove or disable access to the material promptly and tell the person who uploaded it. Knowingly making a false claim can make you liable for damages.

Counter-notice

If your content was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notice to the agent or with this form. We send a copy of it, including your name and contact details, to the person who sent the notice, as the law requires. We may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after a valid counter-notice unless the copyright owner tells us it has filed a court action.

Repeat infringers

We close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe copyright.
