Terms of Service
Effective October 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and the operator of Elthos ("Elthos", "we"). By creating an account or using Elthos you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use Elthos.
1. Who can use Elthos
You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Elthos is not directed to children under 13, and we ask for a date of birth before an account is created. If you are under 18, you may use Elthos only with the permission of a parent or guardian. You must give accurate information and keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
2. Your content
Recordings, transcripts, notes, files, images, and messages you add ("your content") remain yours. You give us permission to store, process, and display your content only as needed to run Elthos for you and for the people you share a project, class, or session with. You must have the right to add everything you upload, and it must not break the law or anyone else's rights.
3. Recording other people
Elthos can record and transcribe meetings, calls, and lectures. Laws about recording differ by place, and many require that everyone being recorded knows and agrees. You are responsible for telling the people you record, getting any consent the law requires, and following the rules of your school, employer, or meeting host. Do not use Elthos to record anyone unlawfully.
4. AI-generated results
Summaries, notes, answers, tasks, and other generated text can be incomplete or wrong. Check anything important against the original recording or document. Elthos does not give legal, medical, financial, or other professional advice.
5. What you may not do
- Break the law, or upload content you have no right to use.
- Upload content that is abusive, sexually exploits anyone, or invades someone's privacy.
- Try to access another person's account or data, or disrupt or overload the service.
- Resell the service or use it to build a competing data set without our written permission.
6. Copyright
We respond to notices of claimed copyright infringement as described in our Copyright Policy, and we close the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe.
7. Plans and payment
Each plan has usage limits shown in the app. Where checkout is enabled, paid monthly subscriptions are processed by Stripe and renew automatically until canceled. The plan price and billing period are shown before checkout, and Stripe shows the payment total before you confirm. Use Plans & billing → Manage subscription to change payment details or cancel renewal. Test-mode payments do not charge real money. See the Refund Policy.
8. Ending your account
You can delete your account at any time from Settings; this removes your content from our systems as described in the Privacy Policy. We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts other people or the service at risk.
9. Disclaimers and limits
Elthos is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for lost data or profits, and our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim, or US$50 if you paid nothing. Some places do not allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will tell you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Elthos after a change means you accept it.
